Exciting Renovations at Kelowna Christian Elementary School

Exciting Summer Renovations at Kelowna Christian Elementary School: A Bright Future for Our Gordon Campus

At Kelowna Christian School, our Elementary School holds a special place in our hearts. The Gordon Campus has been home to our youngest learners for over 39 years and is deeply rooted in our history. As with any well-loved building, time has taken its toll, and we recognized the need to refresh and revitalize the space to ensure it continues to inspire and nurture our students for generations to come.

This summer, we embarked on a significant renovation project as part of the ongoing IMPACT campaign, focusing on upgrading various parts of the Gordon Campus. This investment is part of our broader commitment to being good stewards of what God has graciously provided to us, and transforming the campus into a modern, inspiring learning environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We are thrilled to announce that, with your incredible support, we have raised $791,526 towards our $900,000 goal!

To achieve our mission we still need to raise an additional $108,474. Every dollar raised will go directly toward benefiting our students!

Highlights of the Renovation:

Common Area Enhancements:
One of the most exciting aspects of the renovation was the transformation of our common areas. Fresh new paint and bright, colorful alcoves have created a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere throughout the school. These lively pops of color encourage creativity and joy as students move through the hallways. In addition, we installed an impressive 2.5 kilometers of new cove base and updated door trim, while cubbies and hooks were refreshed to provide more organized and functional spaces for students' belongings. Together, these changes have given the building a clean, polished look and a renewed sense of energy.

We are also thrilled to announce the installation of three new water bottle filling stations across the Gordon Campus. These modern stations make it easier for students to stay hydrated throughout the day while promoting eco-friendly habits by encouraging the use of reusable water bottles. This addition has quickly become a favourite among students and staff! To help keep things organized, we kindly remind parents to clearly label their children's water bottles to reduce lost items and ensure bottles return home.

Washroom Upgrades:
The renovation also included much-needed upgrades to four of the eight washrooms on site. These updates feature new flooring, countertops, fresh paint, updated fixtures, and PVC wall cladding—a hygienic, impact-resistant alternative to tile that is grout-free and easy to clean. These improvements have greatly enhanced the functionality and appearance of both student and staff washrooms. The remaining four washrooms will be upgraded in the next phase of renovations.

These changes reflect our dedication to creating an environment where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. Enhancing the appearance and functionality of the school sends an important message to our children: they matter, and we are committed to investing in their future success. The transformation has breathed new life into our beloved campus, making it a warm, inviting place where students can learn, grow, and feel a sense of belonging.

Looking Forward

While we've made great progress this summer, the renovations at the Gordon Campus are far from over. As we continue through the next phases of the IMPACT campaign, our vision remains to create the best possible environment for our students to flourish. These upgrades not only improve the aesthetics of the school but also reflect our mission of providing high-quality Christian education in a space that supports academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community building. I ask that you would prayerfully consider donating to the IMPACT Campaign - every bit makes a difference.
