Rooted - Parent Volunteer Group
Thanks for your interest in our parent group: Rooted! Our desire is to create a place of belonging where students and families are rooted in relationship and shared purpose. We're always looking for parents who want to participate in creating events, helping out, welcoming others, and having fun together. You can do this by joining a committee, attending monthly Rooted meetings, or volunteering in a bunch of different ways. Our goal is to help you plug in!

Our All-School Welcome Back Barbecue Needs You!
September 8 is the first day of school and the Rooted parent group is hosting an all-school barbecue for KCS families. We need parent volunteers to make this event a success, and many hands make light work!
The first day of school ends at noon, so there is time to go home and rest up before meeting at the Benvoulin campus for our 5:00 p.m. Welcome Back Barbecue, which features food, bouncy castles/inflatables, games, and a short program.
We need a few dozen people to help in the following areas; they are described in more detail in the online sign-up form:
- Welcoming (greeting, providing directions)
- Logistics (parking, organization, first aid station)
- Food preparation (being a runner, helping with set up)
- Clean up (we need people at the 6:45 conclusion but this is easy work)

Sign up to be a Grade Parent

We want to create a school in which parents find belonging -- not just the students! Rooted is organizing Grade Parents for each Kindergarten - 12 grade to connect parents with each other. We’re looking for one to three parents from each grade to work together to facilitate connections between parents of that grade. Rooted will work with Grade Parents to create a positive, helpful presence for other parents, welcome new families to the grade community before the first day of school, and to contact your grade's families to organize a couple of casual get-togethers. |
We have so many great families at KCS! If you are interested in being a Grade Parent for one of your children’s grades, please check out the following links. Rooted will confirm the Grade Parents by the end of June to give them more information.
