Sarah was born and raised in Kelowna and discovered her passion for working with children while volunteering as a summer camp counsellor at Maple Springs Bible Camp. In grade 12 year she felt a strong calling from God to pursue a career in education. Following graduation, Sarah move to Vancouver Island and completed her Bachelor of Elementary Education at the University of Victoria. During that time, Sarah gained experience teaching Kindergarten in New Zealand, Grade 2 in Kelowna, and Grade 4/5 in Victoria. More recently, she has been working as a substitute teacher in Kelowna while furthering her education through online coursework with a focus on personalized learning strategies.
Sarah says, "I am so excited that God has led me to KCS and look forward to working with all of the wonderful children in this community! I love learning and teaching all subjects, but I especially enjoy Science, Art, and Writing. In my classroom, I strive to develop a welcoming community in which we can laugh, learn, and explore what it means to serve the Lord alongside one another."
When Sarah is not at school, she loves to spend time with her husband Michael, friends, and the rest of her family. Sarah also enjoys baking, making crafts, playing board games, watching movies, and going outdoors to hike, ski, play sports, and swim.
