Here's a peek at what the KCS Bus Route will look like...
Morning Route
7:20 -- p/u at The Potter's House Community Church
7:25 -- bus leaves Potter's House
7:35 -- p/u at Lakeview Heights Baptist Church
7:40 -- bus leaves Lakeview Heights Church
8:15 -- drop off KCS Elementry students at the Gordon campus (and p/u MS and HS shuttle students)
8:20 -- bus leaves Gordon campus
8:30 -- drop off Middle School students at the Lakeshore campus (and p/u High School shuttle students)
8:32 -- bus leaves Lakeshore campus (with HS shuttle students)
8:45 -- bus drops off HS students at the Benvoulin campus
Afternoon Route
3:00 -- bus leaves Gordon campus
3:15 -- bus leaves Benvoulin campus
3:30 -- bus leaves Lakeshore campus
4:00 -- drop off at Lakeview Heights Church
4:30 -- drop off at The Potter's House Community Church
The Cost
The estimated monthly cost per student of $284/month is based on 25 West Kelowna student riders. However, we feel this rate can be reduced! If our student rider numbers increase above 25, the monthly rate will go down (e.g. an increase to 30 student riders would reduce the rate to $239/month, and with 35 riders the rate would be $205/month.
Cost Guarantees for Families
West Kelowna families who register for the bus route and pay the $300 deposit have assurance from the school on these two items: If there are not enough committed student riders to make the bus route financially feasible, the $300 deposit will be fully refunded. This decision will be made by April 7. Any savings from increased ridership, shuttle service fees, or sponsorship will be passed on to families, reducing their payment.
Commitment Needed by March 7
West Kelowna families who want to participate in the bus route need to indicate their commitment to paying for a full year's seat for a student on the bus by registering by March 7. Part of this commitment is agreeing to pay a $300 deposit -- this deposit is non-refundable (unless the bus route doesn't proceed) until after the 2025-2026 school year.
