ABOUT ME

My name is Renee Nessman. I was born in Saskatchewan, grew up on Vancouver Island and have resided in many communities throughout British Columbia and Alberta. No matter where life's journey has taken me, I consider myself an “Island Girl.” I graduated with Bachelor of Education Degree from Union College Nebraska in 2002 with NCATE certification (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) and began my teaching career right away. Having received my Montessori certification while working in Alberta, I taught at Parkside Montessori, a thriving and growing public school, and taught in an elementary Montessori classroom for the last five year.

As a reflective teacher, I enjoy taking the very best of what I’ve learned over the years and apply it to my current teaching method. It is my goal to make each year better than my last and to take each precious child into consideration when planning and educating. I believe teaching is the opportunity to facilitate a passion for life long learning and I strive to make this happen in my classroom. I love being a teacher and feel blessed to become part of the KCS team.

My greatest treasure is my family! My husband and children are my biggest cheerleaders. They encourage and support me continuously. Gerry Nessman is my amazing husband, we have been married for 20 years and have two beautiful children Isaiah and Shekinah. Isaiah is a student at UBCO and Shekinah is entering high school at KCS this year. We are excited to be back in the Okanagan!
